What traditions of yoga are taught?
Iyengar Yoga draws from a system of Hatha yoga as developed by B.K.S. Iyengar of Pune, India and is the primary method taught at AHA studio. Iyengar yoga is know for meticulous attention to alignment, integrity in dynamic practice of classical poses and the creative use of props (chairs, blankets, bolsters, ropes, blocks) to help each student experience the benefits of the pose.
Anusara Yoga, created by John Friend, is an empowering hatha yoga system that blends Universal Principles of Alignment with heart-centered Tantric philosophy. Anusara means “flowing with grace.” To step into this flow is to open fully to the whole glorious spectrum of life. Deeply transformative, spiritually uplifting, powerfully integrative, Anusara offers a joyful, celebratory and fun new approach to Yoga where science, awareness, energy and intention all unite within the light of the heart.
