Yoga is Breaking the Bond of Suffering

Friday, November 2, 2018

7-9 PM

Explore the depths of one of India’s most important ancient texts in this evening talk entitled, “Yoga is Breaking the Bond with Suffering.”

All spiritual teachings call for a radical transformation of our being, freeing us from our conditioned self, and moving from reaction to response. Suffering which occupies our psyche and body keeps us deeply connected to our past. Yoga assists a practitioner to become increasingly free of the attachment to suffering and Krishna explicitly says in the Bhagavad Gita that yoga is breaking the bond with suffering.

Yoga as a Science of Transformation of Being

Saturday, November 3, 2019

10 AM – 4:30 PM

Open to all – an in depth look at the Bhagavad Gita and philosophy of yoga.  Join for the morning session or full day with a lunch break mid-day.  Dr. Ravi Ravindra will guide participants through experiential practice of meditation, discussion and reflection on the wisdom of this ancient text and how it applies to our modern lives.

The God-incarnate Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita that no action can be right until the actor is right. To become the right actor, a radical transformation of our whole being is required. This is why He teaches a variety of yogas emphasizing that Yoga is the science par excellence of transformation. The main yoga that Krishna teaches is the yoga of awareness (buddhi yoga) since awareness is the major mechanism of transformation.
