Ravi Ravindra obtained degrees of B.Sc. and M. Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, before going to Canada on a Commonwealth Scholarship to do an M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Toronto. Later, he did an M.A. in Philosophy also, and at different times held Post-doctoral fellowships in Physics (University of Toronto), History and Philosophy of Science (Princeton University) and in Religion (Columbia University). He is now Professor Emeritus at Dalhousie University in Halifax (Canada) where he served for many years as a Professor in the departments of Comparative Religion, Philosophy, and of Physics.
We are delighted to welcome spiritual scholar and international speaker Dr. Ravindra for his 4th year to the Upper Valley region. Dr. Ravindra, a leading authority on J. Krishnamurti, G. Gurdjieff, and the world’s mystical traditions, will make a rare public-speaking appearance in the U.S. for two upcoming events in early October.
Yoga and the Journey of Self-transformation
Fri., October 18, Evening Talk – 7- 9:00 pm
Sat., October 19, Workshop 9:30 am-12:30pm
Attend either session or both. One single lesson that can be gleaned from all the world’s scriptures and sacred texts is: unless searchers undergo a radical transformation of the whole of their being, they cannot come to the Truth or the Real or God. The process of transformation leads not to freedom for the self but to freedom from my conditioned self. Yoga is a science par excellence of transformation.
As we will discuss, a searcher soon becomes deeply interested in the long but adventurous journey of self-transformation rather than the destination, which always remains a Mystery.
Friday, October 18, Evening talk – 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Saturday, October 19, Workshop – 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
*The workshop session includes guided meditation and exploration in going deeper.
