NEW! Dancing with Parkinson’s Classes
Participate in fun movement to music taught by trained dancer, Kate Gamble, to help with balance, flexibility, and coordination. The class is open to anyone with Parkinson’s and their caregiver. Participants must be able to move independently, with or without an assistive device; get to and from a restroom independently; and/ or be accompanied by a care partner to provide help as needed. Seated dance moves can replace standing dance steps as necessary.
Kate Gamble has a B.F.A. in Dance from NYU and Masters of Physical Therapy from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is thrilled to bring this program to the Upper Valley as she believes wholeheartedly in the potential of dance to enliven the spirit and transform the body. Sponsored by the Parkinson’s Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. $10 for the person with Parkinson’s and their caregiver.
- For questions or to register, call (904) 626-5284 or email Kate Gamble

Yoga Nidra Class
We pleased to begin offering periodic Yoga Nidra classes on Sunday afternoons. The first class will be taught by Michele George. Yoga Nidra is an ancient Tantric practice that systematically unwinds the nervous system and induces full-body relaxation. Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep. It is a state of conscious Deep Sleep. In Meditation, you remain in the Waking state of consciousness, and gently focus the mind, while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and move on. However, in Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and venture into Deep Sleep, yet remain awake. Yoga Nidra is a ‘sleep’ where burdens, stress, strain, anxiety dissolve to attain a more blissful state of awareness, a relaxation much more intense than ordinary sleep.
This 90-minute class will begin with a brief overview of Yoga Nidra and a gentle, flowing 30-minute asana practice to warm and open the body. A 45-minute Yoga Nidra practice will follow. $20
