Monday Classes

T’ai Chi and Qigong Practice, 8:30 – 9:30 am

An open session for practice, or to learn new techniques. Content will depend on participants.

  • Taught by Charles Meyers.
  • $12 drop-in.

Level 1 Yoga, 9:45 – 11:15 am

How to practice basic yoga poses, and how to link them into home practice sequences. Includes standing poses, simple forward bends and twists, and an introduction to shoulder stand and basic breathing techniques.

  • Taught by Diana Shannon.
  • $182/session or $16 drop-in.

Iyengar Yoga Level II, 11:30 – 1:00 pm

Additional basic poses presented, including headstand, full backbends and the basics of pranayama.

  • $182/session or $16 drop-in.

Prenatal Yoga, 4:00 – 5:30 pm

Gentle stretching, strengthening and relaxation for all three trimesters. No yoga experience required.

Anusara Style Level II Yoga, 6 – 7:30 pm

Includes a wide variety of postures from many different categories of asana. For experienced yoga students.

  • Taught by Michel George.
  • $182/session or $16 drop-in.

Chinese Nutritional Mechanics, 7:30 – 8:30 pm

Take more responsibility about your health as you learn the mechanics of Chinese medical nutrition.

  • Taught by Charles Meyers.
  • Runs 10/4/10 – 11/1/10.
  • No class 10/25/10.

Tuesday Classes

Mommy and Me Yoga, 10:00 – 11:00 am

Mothers and babies up to two years will be guided through yoga postures.

  • Led by Deb Robinson.
  • $64 pass (good for 8 classes) or $10 drop-in.

Iyengar Yoga Level I, 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Qigong for Health and Longevity, 6:15 – 7:15 pm

Qigong helps build energy and immune function along with calming the body, mind, and spirit. Learn primordial qigong, a dynamic form that builds energy as it consolidates the center. Learn whole body breathing that supplies each cell with oxygen and energy. Learn marrow cleansing technique, a powerful visualization combined with breath and movement.

Ta’i Chi Fundamentals, 7:30 – 8:30 pm

Shortened version of Yang Style T’ai Chi Chu’an. Appropriate for any level and physical capacity. Call Charles Meyers at 603-442-9535 with questions or to register.

  • Runs September 14 through November 22 for 12 weeks.
  • No class 9/28.
  • $120/session

Wednesday Classes

A link between Level I and Level II. Students will refine the Level I poses and will begin work on Level II.

Friday Classes

Therapeutic Yoga, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Careful instruction by a physical therapist and yoga teacher on alignment and prevention of injuries using introductory poses with support as needed. New mothers with babies are welcome.

Saturday Classes

Special Topics, 9:00 – 11:00 am

This two-hour weekly class includes special topics such as backbends, hip openers, standing poses. Upcoming topics will be available on the website. Sign up for session or pay just $16 for drop-in.

  • Taught by AHA Staff.
  • $169/session or $16 drop-in.
  • No class on 11/13/10.

Introduction to Yoga, 11:15 – 12:30 pm

Includes the basics of positioning, alignment, and action of the poses.

Sunday Classes

Nia Dance, 11:00 am – 12:00 noon

Nia draws from dance arts, martial arts and healing arts. It is done barefoot to culturally inspired music and is a transformational movement practice that teaches you to be more joyful, expressive and alive in your body, both inside and outside of the studio.

  • Taught by Jenn Sargent.
  • $130 pass (good for 10 classes) or $16 drop-in.
  • No class on 11/14/10.

Seated Healing Qigong Classes with Charles Meyers

Learn ten simple, yet powerful repetitive motions to eliminate disease and maintain health.

  • Includes four 2-hour classes in November from 3-5 pm.
  • Cost is $100. Proceeds from these classes will be donated to the Upper Valley Zen Center.

Note the following

  • Those who sign up for a session, may take additional classes at $13/class. Make up a missed class by attending another class during the week or session.
  • All classes are $16 drop-in except for Therapeutic ($15).
  • Passes are still available for Therapeutic, Pre-Natal and Nia ($130 for 10 classes) but can be used for those classes only.
  • Old punch cards may still be used for any class.
  • Payment by cash, check, or credit card accepted.
