Aparigraha

Aparigraha is one of the five yamas in yoga philosophy. It can be interpreted to mean non-possessiveness, non-covetousness, non-hoarding, or non-attachment. One aspect of cultivating aparigraha includes recycling and reusing possessions. The resources listed on this page can aid you in that process.

A grassroots and entirely non-profit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is free. freecycle.org

Listen Thrift Stores

Welcome clean, usable, and resalable items including women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes, house wares, books, and furniture. Tires, TVs, VCRs, faxes, printers, or computers are not accepted. Furniture donations pickups can be scheduled. The ReCover Store is an environmentally friendly, socially responsible business that provides funding for a non-profit organization addressing the urgent home repair needs of low-income, disabled and elderly residents of the Upper Valley.
